Samantha Carter, Owner
Samantha has her B.F.A. from Florida State University and has been exploring clay since 2010. She moved to Asheville after college to be a part of the area’s strong pottery traditions and has found studios in the River Arts District, sheds, basements, sunrooms, and attics ever since. Since 2020, she’s expanded the HLH team and has happily settled into her dreamiest, most conducive studio space to date in West Asheville. When she isn't in the studio, she enjoys pursuing other art hobbies like painting and photography, interior decorating, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with her daughter and partner.
Kaylyn Carter, Communications and Fulfillment
Kaylyn is a graduate of the School of Theatre at Florida State University. As a recent pandemic-transplant by way of Chicago, Kaylyn has enjoyed learning the ins and outs of keeping a pottery studio running smoothly. In addition to her work in the studio, Kaylyn is an actor and company member with Playmakers Laboratory Theatre, teaching creative writing residencies in Chicago Public Schools and adapting original works for the stage.
Rosy Kirby, Surface Design
Rosy grew up on a blueberry farm in Southwest Virginia, where she developed a deep love and curiosity of the natural world. She received her B.F.A. and teaching degree from Appalachian State, and has lived in Asheville for close to 10 years. When her hands are not covered in clay dust she loves hiking and trail running, illustration, and kicking it with her partner and pup.
